Jennifer Miller, LICSW, is a child, teen, and family therapist in Eagan, MN who helps families strengthen communication and emotional well-being. With more than 20 years of experience supporting children (ages 6+), teens, adults, and families, she brings deep expertise and a warm, grounded presence to every session.
About Jennifer Miller, LICSW
When you meet Jenn, her compassion and genuine curiosity stand out right away. She builds trust quickly, which is especially essential when working with children, teens, and families. Her warm and relatable style helps clients feel safe talking about difficult experiences.
Known for her steady, positive presence and her ability to listen deeply, Jenn takes time to understand each family’s unique challenges and strengths. Because of this, clients feel heard, validated, and supported from the very start. Although she specializes in children and adolescents, she has also made transformational change with adults individually and, in a smaller number of cases, with couples.
Furthermore, she uses her extensive training and experience to create clear goals and personalized strategies that support growth, insight, and stability for the entire family system.

Therapeutic Approach for Children, Teens & Families
Jenn focuses on family dynamics, communication patterns, and emotional development. She is skilled at helping families reduce conflict, build understanding, and reconnect in healthier ways.
In addition, she integrates trauma-informed care, psychodynamic approaches, and mindfulness techniques. This blend helps clients feel grounded while exploring difficult emotions and relationship patterns. Working collaboratively with parents, teens, and children, Jenn identifies what is working and what needs to change. Her goal is to build skills that improve communication, emotional regulation, and connection.
Consequently, families often see progress quickly when they commit to using strategies outside of session — something Jenn coaches and supports along the way.
Professional Background
Jenn is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University and her Master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
Her background includes more than a decade of in-home crisis therapy in Minneapolis and surrounding areas, where she supported families in high-stress, high-conflict situations. This experience gave her deep insight into child behavior, parent-child relationships, and family systems under pressure. Moreover, she continues to support students in school-based settings, giving her additional awareness of academic stress, social struggles, and developmental changes in children and adolescents.
In outpatient practice, Jenn has earned a reputation across the Twin Cities as a trusted therapist for families experiencing conflict or communication challenges — particularly when it feels like all previous resources and providers have failed to help.

Personal Life
Outside of work, Jenn enjoys camping with her family, traveling, and staying active at the gym. She values balance and wellness in her own life and brings that same perspective into her therapy practice. Though she won’t mention it herself, she is also an excellent soccer player who remains passionate about keeping her footwork sharp — as well as passionately cheering on her favorite NBA teams.
Beyond her personal pursuits, Jenn loves helping people discover strengths, deepen insight, and build more connected relationships. Her calm presence and clear communication make her especially effective with children, teens, and families experiencing stress or transition. Simply put, Jenn is the real deal — smart, intuitive, authentic, and genuinely invested in helping you find meaning and contentment in your life.
*Jenn is able to see children younger than age 6 in select situations appropriate for a small clinic setting.

Therefore, portal messaging is always the preferred form of communication.
