About Jensi Ocampo Sorto, LPCC

Jensi’s goal is not only to help clients work through the distress they’re experiencing, but also to help them thrive and flourish. Her counseling philosophy is grounded in a wellness approach to care, emphasizing prevention and coping strategies that build growth, resilience, and whole-person well-being. Because of this, the work clients do with her is designed to have a lasting, long-term impact.

As a Spanish-speaking therapist, Jensi works with children, teens, and adults in whichever language feels the most comfortable.

She offers culturally responsive care for BIPOC and immigrant clients, honoring each person’s lived experience, identity, and family background. For children, she uses play-based therapy to make sessions engaging and to help children express, understand, and cope with their emotions.

Jensi believes that growth is a dance, not a light switch, and she is committed to engaging in that dance of growth and healing alongside each client.

Background & Professional Training

Jensi obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hamline University and completed a CACREP-accredited Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Cloud State University.  As a licensed professional clinical counselor, Jensi has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting.

Jensi recognizes that your healing, time, and mental health are all valuable, so her mission is to provide authentic, nonjudgmental support and provide meaningful therapy sessions. As a result of her excellent clinical skills and true dedication to effectively supporting you, she retains nearly all the clients she works with from across the lifespan.

Personal Interests

Jensi feels the most grounded when she travels, meditates, and spends time in nature. She enjoys biking, baking, hiking, trying new coffee shops, and playing board games.

Insurance Accepted

Jensi is in the process of becoming credentialed with most major insurance plans, including Optum (Medica, UMR, UBH, UHG, Surest), HealthPartners, Cigna, BCBS, Aetna, and First Health. She also welcomes private pay via HSA or major credit card. If you’re unsure whether your plan qualifies, contact your insurance provider directly beforehand for the clearest answer.

Self-Pay Rate (Opt-Out of Insurance)

2026 rate: $175 (53–55 min session)

This fee reflects choosing to pay privately rather than using insurance.

Active clients, and parents or guardians of minor clients, should use the secure client portal to send non-urgent messages, ask scheduling questions, or cancel and reschedule appointments. Because discussing ongoing clinical matters outside of session raises HIPAA concerns, Jensi discourages regular email and phone contact and strongly encourages portal messaging as the primary form of communication.
