
Cicely works in the office and via telehealth Monday through Thursday. She has several afternoon and evening appointment but they fill fast so it may take 4-6 weeks to be seen in those time slots. Fill out an appointment request here.
Specialties:
Cicely specializes in women’s health and has extensive experience treating complex trauma as a result of domestic violence or narcissistic abusive relationship dynamics. She also works with refugees from war torn areas. With over 15 years in the field, her ability to treat complex issues, including couples and relational work aided by her training in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Outside of her specialties, she also sees individual women (18 plus) who need support around symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, Grief and difficult Life Transitions.
About:
Cicely was born with a passion to help others see their importance in the world. She is a life-long learner of psychology and sociology and uses her wealth of knowledge to help you achieve the goals you have always wanted to accomplish. Or maybe that’s exactly what you are struggling with, not knowing a direction. She can help you find your way out of the confusion that feels heavy and dark. She seeks to understand you and what motivates you, helps you identify the strengths you may have neglected to see, and works with you to find the tools you need for change. To say this women is intelligent, is an understatement. Her vast knowledge does not leave her clients intimidated, rather thrilled to have found her and learn from everything she has to share.
Background:
She earned her B.A. with double majors in history and political science from Cal Poly – Humboldt in California, and her M.A. in clinical mental health counseling and psychology from Goddard College in Vermont. During her university studies, she completed coursework in biopsychology and neuropsychology, recognizing the critical link between physical and mental health in long-term recovery.
Cicely is an LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor). She has gained experience in a variety of settings including on the East Coast where she worked with Refugees trying to get their feet under them in a new country. Previous to joining Dr Brecke Counseling Group, four years ago, she worked north of the Twin Cities serving the rural population of Minnesota.
In her clinical practice, Cicely integrates the healing power of artistic expression, emphasizing its role in the healing process. By the end of the first session, you will feel heard, understood, and see why she followed the path of healing. She knows the importance of you leading the direction of your treatment based on your desired goals and is not afraid to help support you in this while also being directive when necessary.
Personal Life:
Outside of work, she enjoys creating art, bead-working, and indulging in her love for Star Trek. Her talent was recently recognized and featured at ‘Art-A-Whirl’, the largest open artist studio tour in the country, right here in North East Minneapolis. She also loves to spend time with her cats, dogs, and family.

Self-pay rate for an individual session (53-55 minutes): $165
