Jennifer is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) that received an undergrad in social work at Mankato State University and completed a graduate degree in Social Work at University Of South Carolina, Columbia.
Jennifer works with children over the age of 10 (some exceptions can be made for younger if it’s the right fit), adolescents, adults and couples. She previously worked in community mental health settings, providing in-home service, with the focus being on crisis stabilization, and providing therapeutic support. She also has past experience working in hospital settings and school environments, which has fulfilled the joy of working with kids, adolescents, adults and families.
Jennifer believes therapy allows us a safe place to learn more about who we are and how we experience life. She acknowledges that therapy can be scary and bring up hard things. She places a strong value on creating a safe, open space to fully experience and express one’s unique personality. Her approach incorporates a trauma informed understanding, a psychodynamic perspective with a person centered approach and a focus on mindfulness.
Jennifer is down to earth. She considers herself to be an earthy person and recently acquired a love for camping with her kids and husband. She also likes to travel when time allows, appreciating what new adventures have to offer. Part of Jennifer’s own mental health practices incorporate frequent visits to the gym to keep her feeling balanced.
Jennifer is only able to see children who can maintain a quiet voice in the lobby as there is massages going on most hours of the day right off the lobby. We realize this is not going to work for some children and families. We apologize for the inconvenience.
