Cicely Matz is a licensed clinician who specializes in trauma treatment via cognitive behavioral therapy CBT and dialectical behavioral therapy DBT principles. She has many years of experience working with domestic violence /narcissistic abuse survivors and later refugees from war torn areas of the world. Additionally, Ms. Matz worked in a homeless shelter treating adults and youth with severe and persistent mental health issues. She received her B.A. with a double major in history and political science from Cal Poly – Humboldt in California and her M.A. in clinical mental health counseling and psychology from Goddard College in Vermont. During her tenure at university Ms. Matz completed course work biopsychology and neuropsychology as part of her program of study. She emphasizes the critical relationship between physical and mental health in the long-term recovery of her patients. Ms. Matz enjoys bringing the opportunity to heal through artistic expression into her clinical work as well. In her spare time she enjoys creating her own art, bead-working, and watching Star Trek as well as spending time with her cats, dogs and kids.
